What to watch on Tuesdays…

You see the tumbleweed blow by?
8pm – Glee on Fox.
9pm – Warehouse 13 bows for it’s 2nd season finale on Sy Fy.
I’d give Running Wilde on Fox at 930pm a chance but this Fox after all.
That’s all I got at least until Sy Fy moves it’s Friday line up to Tuesdays in October.

What to Watch on Mondays…

The new season is upon us!
The cable stations shows like The Closer, White Collar and Eureka bowed last week for their midseason finales.
Gah, is this what happens when networks start their shows on time for a change instead of waiting on the World Series?
Monday Night!
8pm- Chuck on NBC – 4th Season premier.
8pm – HIMYM on CBS – 6th Season premier.
9pm – The Event on NBC – Pilot Episode.
10pm – Castle on ABC – 3rd Season premier.
10pm – Chase on NBC – Pilot Episode.
10pm – Hawaii Five-O on CBS – Pilot Episode.
My my, the 10pm is the place to be, eh? Do we start hedging bets on who will win?
I’ve left a great deal out since most of what else is on Mondays does not agree with me or it won’t last. Your mileage of course may vary.
I do hope FX does not put Justified on Monday Nights at 10pm because dem fightin’ words.

Saturday ramblin'…

This post may be boring so I’m putting it behind a cut.
Managed to get Dead Space, Saints Row 1+2 and Mass Effect 1 at Gamestop for under $60.
Swung by Symposium Books in Providence and used up my birthday present. Someone needs to tell them to put the Young Adult and the “Fiction” closer to the front door and not to put the price stickers in the middle of the covers of graphic novels.
Onward to the boring stuff…

That's not APB….APB's dead…

This is unfortunate.
The one thing that stood out for me in APB was the ability to tailor characters appearances and their clothing to your whim. This a step forward from the status quo where many of the first person shooter games tend to just drop you in and let you frag other players (with the exception of Rainbow Six Series).
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: It’s sad, sad, sad day when Tiger Wood’s Golf Game has better character facial creation options than some of the bigger games. Heck, at least Rainbow Six Vegas let you use the XBox Camera to scan your face onto your character.
Emersion in sand box games like APB, WOW, EVE,  Star Trek On-Line and to a lesser extent: Saints Row/GTA is one of the reasons why I play these types of games. It’s that type of creation that shows the designers were looking to do something different than the rest. The colorful artwork that Realtime World used on their website and their loading screens unfortunately did not live up to the hype. Buggy software, using your mouse to look around was ill advised and loading APB was the first and only time I’ve seen the BSOD on my iMac via Parallels.
Is two months a world’s record for a game to die?
