Friends don't let friends James Fey…

Currently the topic on several author’s blogs, first post from John Scalzi then a follow up post to the MBA Programs, Maureen Johnson, Caitlin Kittredge and a slew of other people is about what James Fey is peddling this time.
Here’s the New York Times Article for those of you just joining us. And, here’s the contract.
Bottom line: Run awwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy!
The only reason why I’m chiming in on this is because my word war buddy during NaNoWrimo is going to start shopping her finished and rather kick ass manuscript around to agents and once I take a flamethrower of a red pen to mine and edited it into something readable I’ll be following suit.
My only advise to would be writers looking to score fast is to do your homework, write, revise, revise, revise, revise and find an agent through Agent Query, check Predators and Editors to make sure you’re not getting screwed and find a lawyer too.
There are other ways to get published than whatever Fey is doing. Sure, James Patterson may employ similar plan but in the end it’s James Patterson’s name on the book, there’s no hope for getting your name out there so why take the cash, a fake name and let someone else take the credit.
I’d was going to give I am Number Four a chance since the movie arrives soon and the teaser trailer shows just enough of the good stuff.
But why does the crop circle type icon for I am Number Four looks a lot like the Ubisoft Logo?

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Cameras are coming; so, too, are lights and trucks and all the trappings of filming for a new TV series: “Body of Proof.”
The ABC series will be shooting in downtown Providence on Tuesday. The crew will be filming scenes on Empire Street, Washington Street and Fountain Street. And support trucks for the shoots will be on Greene Street.
The roads will be open to local traffic, but many parking spaces will not.
“Body of Proof,” which is being shot entirely in Rhode Island, features criminal investigations aided medical investigations. The show stars Dana Delany, who plays a medical examiner, and Jerri Ryan, who plays her boss.
No date has been set for the show’s debut, which was originally scheduled for this fall and is now expected to air early next year.
