Ah, good ole Write Ins, coming home and smelling like a barista.
The Kick Off and our first Write In were held at Brewed Awakenings in Johnston since many of the places in Providence are either closed or can’t handle over 15 people.
The Kick Off had the benefit of having a Nor’easter in the forecast and the kept everyone home.
Tuesday Nights Write In did not and I’m glad we called ahead to confirm a table because wow Brewed Awakenings has become a busy place. Of all the places we’ve been too and all the people watching I’ve done over 7 years, this was the first time we were graced with a Tarot Card reader, complete with her own waiting line.
I was a little fearful of having a repeat event like Border’s Cafe last year where everyone was spread out but we had just the right amount of people and enough table space to cover.
Word count: 1085. I blaming this on being a taxi for most of Tuesday morning.
Exeter was a fun trip. And, not just for the fact Ten Rod Rd is for lack of a better term: A license to speed. And, no street lights! Ahem, I did not join the dark side I kept it under 45.
Exeter Library had reached out to us to hold a Write In in their Program Room and I found everything extremely enjoyable. I bought a Pizza from Filippou’s in East Greenwich, Bree brought a bowl of %50 percent off Halloween Candy and Amy the Library Director supplied the cups, plates, soda, chairs, tables and surge protectors. If all the write in locales were this accommodating I’d be a happy ML. The drive from W. Warwick was fairly quick, the drive back to Warwick was 30mins which is what I expected for the most part.
If anyone does go to Exeter, make sure to check Google Maps for directions, GPS will drop you off short of your goal at the Town Hall.
Word Count: 2357.
